Christine OK, my wife is really fun! She is a teacher at an outdoor school and works with kids in elementary school who go on field trips to her school and learn about the food chain, the Chumash Indians, astronomy, pollution, marine animals, you name it. She was also the children's ministry director at my church. That is where I met her. She is the same height as me with blonde hair and has a black lab named Suki. He is getting old at age 12. She loves kids and plays with them as much as I do. She is always teaching them fun camp songs and games. We started dating in the beginning of August and got engaged March 30th. We got married on August 11th, 2001. How I met her One night I was talking to my roommate and complaining about how I currently had no prospects. I told him that my type of girl would be a Sunday school teacher who likes kids and wants to give back to her church. Then next day was Sunday. Our churched introduced her to the congregation in June of 2000 as the new Children's ministry director. Well I was sitting next to my roommate during this and as soon as she was introduced, my roommate was elbowing me continuously. He knew already, well before I did. At the same time, our church was starting a singles group for those in their 20s and 30s and I started going and so did Christine. Since the group was new we were playing many ice breakers. During one of those she got her first opinion of me.. "loser". I can't blame her, we were supposed to tell the group about our selves and it was my turn. I told about my job and I also mentioned about dropping out of school. Of course it was how I said it. During another ice breaker we were supposed to share our hobbies and I mentioned about working on cars and doing computer stuff. Well her and 2 other girls had computer or car trouble. She asked if I could help and we decided to meet after her work at 4pm and go to a computer store to get here a quote. Getting the quote took forever, it was close to 7pm and we were starving so we went to "Fresh Choice" and had dinner together. I invited her to a boating trip I was planning with a bunch of friends and we just kept doing things together. I did a lot of crazy things to get her. It has been her joy for life, caring heart, dependence on Jesus, and fun-loving personality that has drawn me to her (plus she is totally attractive!). :P I can look back and see God work in our lives bringing us together and also teaching us and growing us even before we ever met each other. It is easy to say without a doubt that we fit together like a puzzle. Now that we are married, we have so much fun because we get to spend even more time together. There is nothing better than creating and living in a home with your soul-mate. I still have fun thinking of new ways to show her I love her. |
