Short Memories Even though all you want to do is get bigger, there are a lot of advantages and fun things you can do while you are little. I loved sneaking into the dryer after my mom just finished drying a load of laundry. It was so warm in there and it smelled good. Lucky for me I could never get the door closed or anything, but I always thought it would be fun to hold on and ride inside. In the springtime, the weeds would grow almost taller than you. It was so easy to hide; you could crawl around in your very own jungle. Sometimes when it would rain our property would get flooded. This one winter we got a very strong rain from clouds that were blown up from the south so the water was very warm. The next day my friend and I were swimming in my driveway. The water was probably about 2 feet deep but to me it was my own lake. Shopping was and is still the most boring thing for me to do. As a kid full of energy and very likely to get into trouble, there was no way my mom would leave me at home when she would go grocery or clothes shopping. So I was stuck with my mom and my siblings walking for what seemed like an eternity through countless amount of clothes and aisles. My feet would hurt and I literally felt like I was dying or something. In desperation my brain would look for some type of entertaining opportunity. Being small the clothes racks became a wonderful place to run around, hide in and explore. I always wanted to hide in there and scare people but I never did, I knew that would be the death of me! I had so much fun playing in the clothes racks that I still want to today. |
