The Gang In my late high school senior days and the first two years of college I would hang out with these 3 guys, Matt, Robert (We all called him Bob), and Mike. Now these were 3 crazy guys all three very different from each other. Matt was VERY skinny. I would call him two dimensional. This guy had to worry if the wind blew. We still hang out; as a matter of fact, he was my roommate for about 3 years and still lives in the same town that I do. He has the weirdest quirk about food. He doesn't like eating. He says the only reason why he eats is to avoid passing out. On the total other end of the spectrum was Robert (Bob). Now this guy was very LARGE. I mean when we were all together you never really noticed Matt because compared to Bob, he was definitely two dimensional. I was in the middle. The naive sheltered one of the bunch. Many times they would go do stuff without me and to tell you the truth after some of the stories I have heard from them, sometimes I am glad I wasn't there. Then there was Mike. We would always call him by his last name. Mike was in the middle in body size (like myself) but was totally polar opposite in mind than me. And he was goofy. Ok so when you put 4 total Ogres together that are totally opposite you can bet it is a weird looking group. I guarantee that we scared all the girls away. The funny thing was that we always blamed everyone else in the group for this problem, but it actually was the group itself that caused this phenomenon. Matt was the only one with a real job, he worked at the IRS at night typing in those tax return forms. Now if that is a real job, imagine what the rest of us did! Since Matt had all the ca$h the rest of us would mooch off of him. Our usual trip would be to Black Beard's where we would spend most of Matt's money on full contact Air Hockey and the little racing cars that cost $2.50 every ride. That was $10 for all of us to race each other at once. By about 10 PM all the people who had a life would leave and head for the parties and we would have no idea where they went but figured that we would find them on Blackstone Ave. |
